Over the years hackers have changed tactics of hacking towards IOT devices (Internet of Things), last year we saw a mass DDOS (Distributed Denial Of Service) attack insecure using smart home products, it has also been revealed that Just days before the inauguration of President Donald Trump, between 12th and 15th January hackers managed to plant ransomware on 70 percent of storage devices, a total of 123 of its 187 network video recorders, each controlling up to four CCTVs which are used in public spaces throughout Washington D.C.

The attack caused them to not recording anything and the incident forced them to take the storage devices offline so they could remove the infection before rebooting the systems across the city, it is still unclear if any valuable data was lost.
