An open letter to @UnivisionNews and @TelemundoHou ‬

Back in 2017 was a Category 4 hurricane that made landfall and hit Houston. Liberty High School – HISD flooded for the 5th time.

The District finally decided to move the school to a new location due to the destruction. Liberty High School was placed in a “temporary” location on another campus until new place could be found. It’s now almost 3 years later and Liberty High Schoo still remains at the “temporary “ location.

The District says they have now found a new location, however, they will have to share the building with another school once again.

This decision by the district is limiting Liberty’s ability to grow, due to the lack of space, and students have reached out to us stating that they feel as though they are treated as unimportant and that staff are unable to reach the full potential due to the restrictions they find themselves in daily.

We ask that local sites Univision News and Telemundo Houston investigate into these claims and act in the best interests.
