Apple is official launching it’s Apple Card invites today according to 9to5Mac, Apple first unveiled the card at WWDC19 and since then Apple employees have been testing the car. Apple issued iOS 12.4 to the public on July 22nd in preparation for the Apple Card and Tim Cook confirmed on it’s Q3 earnings call that the card would launch in August.
Apple will send out invites to a select group of customers today, who filled out the ‘Notify Me’ form on the Apple website.
Apple will be launching Apple Card for everyone later in the month.
The Apple Card is a digital-first product in partnership with Goldman Sachs and Mastercard, iPhone users can apply for the card directly from their iPhone and activate the same day, storing it in their Wallet app. Card owners will also get a minimalist physical card made out of titanium to use in places that still do not accept Apple Pay.
Apple Card users will get 3% cash back rewards from any direct Apple purchase, 2% from anything bought using Apple Pay and 1% from everything else.
