Apple “Gather round” Event round up 

Apple has just wrapped up their event and we show you the main announcements. Apple started the event with a James Bond theme tune of a woman running to the Steve Jobs theatre using hey Siri on the AirPods for directions, and Apple Watch teleporting a man to the theatre and unlocking the door with his watch ready for Tim Cook to have his clicker delivered to him.

Tim went through his usual initial opening speech and talking about the store and iOS success. Apple is just about to pass 2 Billion iOS device sales.

Tim says they would be talking about 2 of the personal devices and started with the Apple Watch, mentioning it’s not only the number one smart watch in the work but also the number one watch in the world.

Jeff came on stage to talk about the watch, Jeff talked about how the cellular, fitness rings and heath using heart rate was three key elements. You can read about the full Apple Watch Series 4 announcement here.

Tim then unveiled how the iPhone X has become the number one smart phone in the world with a 98% customer satisfaction. Apple then unveiled the new iPhone Xs (10s) and iPhone Xs max (10s max), they went on to do some demonstrations of apps and then Tim unveiled the iPhone Xr (10r). At the end of the iPhone announcement the HomePod got a mention with better stereo sound with extra features being added included multiple timers and the ability to ping your iPhone to locate it just like you can from the Apple Watch, HomePod will now have the ability to start and end calls right on the HomePod. Interestingly Apple did not mention the Airpower mat or the AirPods version 2. Apple briefly mention that Dolby atoms sound will be coming to the Apple TV soon.
