BT gets go ahead for EE take over deal

BT has been given the go ahead from ofcom on their merger deal, the £12.5bn has been deemed not harmful to the wider market.

The two companies 35 million customers between them and BT currently controls 31% of the UK fixed broadband market with 72,000 employees in the UK and a further 16,000 in another 60 countries. EE currently holds 33.8% of the mobile market.

This isn’t anything new in the communications world as Rivals 3 are looking at merging with o2, which could see competition between these companies hoting up in the next few years.
