Facebook has today announced the closure of some of their under performing apps. Dropbox has also announced similar.
The affected apps that face the ace from Facebook include Slingshot the Snapchat competitor.
Riff, a video creation app and Rooms which is a group-messaging service both also suffer the axe.
Facebook states that most of the features from the affected apps have been integrated into other apps such as the main Facebook and Messenger apps.
Dropbox meanwhile has announced the closure of the Mailbox app which it acquired only two years ago in 2013.
The closure doesn’t come as much of a surprise as the iOS version had been left to stagnate whilst the Mac version had not received any updates.
One app that might come as a surprise is the recently released Carousel photos app which only launched last year.
Dropbox says that the reason for the shutdowns was that company had “increased our team’s focus on collaboration and simplifying the way people work together.”
