With every new Android software update comes a host of after effects and nagging issues for our devices. Issues that include:- Battery drainage Device overheating Lag Apps or functions fail to launch Apps misbehaving (Apps not preforming as they should or did before the update) System restarting frequently without warning And many more performance related errors & issues
Most of these can be avoided or fixed surprisingly easy & Personally I frequently preform the following task after each update and anytime I feel my device isn’t preforming as well as it should.
For the purpose of this article we will use the Lg g stylo device as an example, please note that each device has slightly different methods so please check for your specific device and model. Booting android devices into recovery and Clearing the cache partition LG G Stylo (CDMA) recovery
What exactly is Android recovery ? Android recovery is a bootable partition, which lets you apply official system updates from SD Card, Factory reset your phone or wipe its cache partition.
How to enter LG G Stylo (CDMA) recovery mode ? Power off your device. Boot in recovery mode by pressing and holding Volume Down and Power Button at the same time. Release all buttons when the LG G Stylo (CDMA) screen flickers and in a few seconds the Recovery screen will appear.
Press the power button once to select then Press the power button once to select reboot device
The reason why users would want to do this is because after software updates alot of your apps cannot run properly on new software as they are still set up to run on old software. This causes lots of different annoying issues. Booting Android device into recovery and clearing the cache partition simply stops every app on device at same time (so none are missed because they are in use) then forces them to reboot and update themselves to conform to the new software and run at full capabilities.
Please Note That:- This doesn’t wipe or effect any of the data or information you have on device at all.
