Google Duplex Planned For iOS

Back in 2018 at Google I/O Google announced Google Duplex which allows users to ask the Google Assistant to call businesses or restaurants to book appointments and reserve tables on your behalf without you needing to touch the receiver yourself.

Surprisingly Duplex is extremely accurate and sounds like a real person, until now only Pixel users in the US could use this feature. Google is slowly expanding the number of cities in the US and even plans on adding supports for iPhone users. According to the support site for Duplex Android phones will require Android 5.0 or higher to use the automated calling service and iOS users simply need to have the Google Assistant installed to get started.

Living in the U.K. it looks like we may have a long wait but given Google’s presentation last year I’m extremely excited to see this in action.
