Spotify premium subscribers will get ad’s on podcast

When Spotify entered into the podcast scene, many thought this was a method in which Spotify hoped that premium users would listen to more podcasts so that artists would get less playtime and earn less revenue, however, Spotify has dealt another blow.

All premium subscribers will get adverts when listening to podcasts. Spotify claims it accounts for 19 per cent of podcast listening and has a strong position in the music streaming business, but has reportedly never posted an annual profit since it launched 12 years ago.
